In collaboration with CARB-X, GNA NOW hosts an Expert Meeting focused on developing a Target Product Profile (TPP) for antibiotics to treat severe enteric infections in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The meeting follows the GNA NOW Annual Meeting on 16 September and precedes another prominent event in the AMR space—the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Conference, which will run from 17th to 20 September.
The Expert Meeting will engage specialists in defining a TPP for antibiotics targeting bacterial enteric infections, specifically E. coli, Shigella, Salmonella, and Campylobacter, which are major health concerns in LMICs, particularly among young children. The two-hour session will feature a panel discussion and active audience participation, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive approach to TPP development. The aim is for the outcomes of the Expert Meeting to be summarised and disseminated through a scientific publication.
