Fourteen partners attended this second meeting of the Machine Learning (ML) Scientific Interest Group (SIG), which focused on the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning methods in antimicrobial drug discovery (ADD). Artificial intelligence concerns the study and development of machines that are capable of learning and problem-solving, thus natural intelligence. A “worked example” was presented by Andrea Zaliani, Fraunhofer ITMP on the following topic: “ML analyses of in-vitro MIC data sets from CoADD initiative”. Frederik Deroose, Connecting Pharma (ex-Asclepia Outsourcing Solutions) ended the meeting with a summary and outline of the next steps and action points.
